Thermal Work Limit Calculator

Thermal Work Limit (TWL) is a heat stress index designed primarily for self-paced workers. It represents the limiting sustainable metabolic rate that a well hydrated, acclimatised worker can maintain in a specific thermal environment within safe limits of core body temperature and sweat rate.

The TWL calculator is based on data published in Applied Occupational and Environmental Hygiene Limiting Metabolic Rate (Thermal Work Limit) as an Index of Thermal Stress Brake & Bates (2002)
